The #ThatNakhl Forum for Premium Dates opened under the patronage of HRH Prince Salman bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Governor of the Madinah Region, gathering thought leaders, cultural figures, and economic stakeholders in a distinguished setting.

As part of the forum, Prof. Abdullah Alkadi, CEO of Abdullah Alkadi Company, delivered a seminar titled “The Palm Routes: From Hajer to Taybah.” The seminar traced the historical routes linking Hajer Oasis in the east with the city of Taybah in the west, highlighting the journeys of the ʿAbd al-Qays delegation, who served as bridges of trade, culture, and faith.

The discussion reflected on the deep natural and cultural ties between the two regions — from the similarities in land, climate, and agriculture, to the Prophet’s ﷺ sayings about the people of Hajer and the tribe of ʿAbd al-Qays.

Prof. Alkadi emphasized the enduring significance of palms as symbols of economic and cultural exchange, from the early gesture of presenting diverse dates to the Prophet ﷺ, to the diversity of palm products that define the industry today. The seminar concluded with a forward-looking vision to revive these historic routes through sustainable development, innovation, and the creation of high-quality cultural and agri-tourism experiences.
